The Leeds North and East Circuit of the Methodist Church was formed in September 2013 by the uniting of the former Leeds East and Leeds North-East Circuits. This website will tell you a great deal about Methodism, about what we do together as a circuit, and about the life and worship of each of our 18 churches. The best way to get to know us, though, is to come and see for yourself. You'll find a warm welcome in all our churches. Look at the map below to see where they are.

Leeds North and East Circuit Mission Statement

We are Christians living in the east and north of Leeds who aim to be grouped together to make a difference with God.   We are inspired to deepen God-centred discipleship
and engage with others to seek God’s purposes.

We seek to achieve this vision by:

  1. deepening discipleship through exploring patterns of worship, discussion, spiritual exploration, pastoral care and training—led by the Revd Susan Greenhart, Mary Patchett & Anne Kirkland
  2. strategic and sacrificial use of buildings and support of congregations, capitalising on ecumenical and other partnerships—led by the Revd Dr George Bailey, Ann Johnson, David Barett & Edward Britton
  3. engaging with families, children, and young people through new initiatives, networks, and virtual communities, embodying confidence in carrying out God’s mission—led by the Revd John Mason, Grenville Jensen & Alison Roberts
  4. working alongside disadvantaged communities, older people, foreign national congregations and economically challenged people near and far—led by Deacon Sheila Dawson, Jean Hopkinson & Barbara Belsham
