Our Sunday morning services usually begin at 10:30 (with the doors open from approximately 10am) and worship lasts for approximately an hour. Some of our special services are accessible on zoom so please get in touch via email for the details of how to join us. We have an evening service on the third Sunday of each month starting at 6.30pm.

In worship and prayer, the Methodist Church in Chapel Allerton celebrates God's work in our lives, our vibrant suburb and the wider world. We aim to be a welcoming and inclusive church who encourage everyone in their journey with Jesus.

Our minister is Revd Emily Young. She also has pastoral charge of Roscoe and Trinity Methodist churches and we are enjoying working closely with Emily and our sister churches.

On Sunday July 5th at 4.00pm we have a special circuit service celebrating  Ted Britton who has completed 50 years of local preaching

Raising money for charity is an important part of our ministry. Amaudo is a ground-breaking mental health programme in Nigeria for which we will have raised over £8000 by the end of August !

We are fortunate that our buildings are at the heart of Chapel Allerton. Our current church building, which opened in 1983, provides an excellent flexible space for worship and community activities. We welcome Little Seedlings into our church building who provide daytime play and learning opportunities for young children and their parents/carers.

The Methodist Centre across the road is in almost constant use. Last summer, our friends from Chapel A Baptist church and ourselves invested time and money in replacing the small kitchen downstairs, redecorating the upstairs hall and some of the downstairs rooms. Quite a transformation! Specialist work has begun to repair the windows of this wonderful Georgian building. We anticipate that it will take two summers and a lot of money to bring all thirty-seven windows up to standard.

The Methodist Centre hosts a wide variety of community groups, with a total 'footfall' more than 400 people per week, including:

  • a weekly community lunch club, run by church members
  • Royal Voluntary Service friendship groups

We are blessed to enjoy very good ecumenical relationships with Chapel A Baptist church who worship in the Methodist Centre, Churches Together in Chapel Allerton and Meanwood including the three other churches in partnership for Thrive Leeds.
