Edward Sakwe joined the bandwagon of John Wesley’s preachers in 2004 under the umbrella of the World Church in Britain Programme (WCBP), a Methodist Connexional Programme that invited Ministers from Partner Churches abroad. My first appointment as a Mission Partner was Leicester North Circuit from 2004 – 2010, then Cannock Chase 2010- 2020. Esther and I are proud parents of three hardworking children (two girls and a boy).
I am ecumenical by nature. My parents (father of blessed memory) and siblings are Baptists. They sent me to a Presbyterian Boarding School where I was converted to Presbyterianism and elected ‘student elder’ of the College’s Chapel. Many years later when I answered the call to ministry, I was trained first in a Presbyterian Seminary and later in a Methodist Theological institution. Therefore, I am comfortable in any Denomination or Worship style.
I am passionate for serving God, seeing His kingdom extended wherever I’m called or sent to serve, and one of my favourite passages in the Bible is Acts 2: 42 – 47, something we need to recapture in today’s Church. My prayer life is very important to me and I try to encourage others in the discipline of daily prayers and Bible reading.
