Mark Stennett

Hi I’m Mark Stennett, I’m a Presbyter serving the Leeds North and East Circuit, overseeing Alwoodley Park, Chapel Allerton and Newbourne congregations. I started circuit ministry in 2010 and have served both Tadcaster and Lincoln circuits.

I was born near the East Yorkshire Coast (near Hornsea and Beverley) and where I grew up in and around farming: though growing up I had more of an interest in electronics, being creative and playing my guitar in the local chapel. Following a degree at Cliff College and a Youth work post near Hull, I went into video editing and I.T. caller support. Eventually I responded to the call to ministry and studied at Durham where I got an MA and where I also met Becki (my wife, who is also a Presbyter in the Leeds North and East Circuit).

Whilst it’s a fine art juggling two ministries and two children, when time allows, I enjoying watching movies, Doctor Who and going for a run.

In ministry I see myself as an all-rounder, a team player, who tries to respond to both the needs of the congregation and the community. I enjoy bringing my technical and creative skills into ministry and enjoy youthwork, schools ministry and explore reaching out to those on the fringes of church.
