My name is Michael, and I am a Circuit Steward. I have been living in Leeds since 2018 and began attending Newbourne Methodist church in the same year, having grown up in Somerset where my father was a Minister (he has since moved to Tavistock in Devon). Both sides of my family have Methodist roots, in fact my parents met while singing in a choir.
I am currently working full time as Data Scientist, based in Leeds – although since Covid I have been working primarily from home.
As a Circuit Steward I am responsible for offering pastoral care to our ministers and deacons, as well as supporting the churches within our circuit in their continued efforts to provide Christian worship and activities for the communities they serve.
In my (limited) spare time I enjoy going out walking or staying in and watching football (although I enjoy it less when my team, Newcastle United, are losing). I am also a keen reader, and occasionally try my hand at writing in tandem with my brother Jonathan.
